Having started playing violin at the age of 5, sharing my love of music has been an enormous part of my life. I originally come from Serbia, where I obtained my BM in Violin Performance at The University of Belgrade. I continued my graduate studies in Toronto, Canada, where I finished an Artist Diploma program at The Royal Conservatory of Music. In 2013 I graduated in Masters of Music at The Catholic University of America, in Washington DC. Read More

Although this is my first official teaching job, I began teaching back in 2011 during my freshman year of high school. I had the pleasure of conducting and teaching both concert and chamber orchestra. I then became a student assistant my senior year and was able to do one-on-one's with the younger students. I encourage my students to go home and practice their scales. They are the key to the perfect bow hand/movement, structure, and agile finger movement. Read More

I motivate my students by making detailed practice charts at each lesson, setting long and short-term goals, and encouraging students to participate often in recitals as well as attend local professional performances whenever possible. It is one of the most exciting and rewarding things to witness the progress of each student over time and to be a part of it. Read More

Born in Washington D.C., I trained on violin in the Arlington area, starting with Suzuki and moving to more traditional classical studies, eventually composing and playing my own compositions starting in my early teens. I attended H.B. Woodlawn Secondary Program where I played in orchestras and numerous string ensembles, including [three?] years with the D.C. Youth Orchestra. At age 5 I took up fiddle, working with expert players from Vermont and North Carolina in jam sessions in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Read More

My only method in teaching violin is the suzuki method. Suzuki based his approach on the belief that Musical ability is not an inborn talent but an ability which can be developed. Any child who is properly trained can develop musical ability, just as all children develop the ability to speak their mother tongue. The potential of every child is unlimited. Children learn to speak by listening and imitating the spoken language they hear around them. Read More
