Hello there! I am a current VCU student in the Musical Education course of study with an interest in teaching younger and older students alike, with a focus on particularly reaching neurodivergent students. I'm currently a junior, with 10 years of viola performance and 8 years of violin performance. I've given performances both solo and chamber in the Singelton Center for the Performing Arts, along with side gigs. I teaches basic scales, essential techniques to all levels, and various pieces of music depending on the studentxe2x80x99s needs. I use Suzuki, Kayser, Hohmann, the Third Position, etc. and various concertos for advanced students. I teach children a supplimented Suzuki method, which means I teach the Suzuki Violin Method books with supplimental repertoire in addition such as fiddle tunes and other method books. I introduce note reading from the beginning in the most simple form, and gradually teach them along the way. I use scales, arpeggios, and tonalization to establish a solid technique in my first-year students which enables them to tackle intermediate skills such as shifting and vibrato with ease. Read More

I believe that you can never teach someone something they have no interest in learning and I'm most committed to making sure that students at all levels are excited about what they are doing.
