The primary trumpet method book I use to teach lessons is "Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet" by Jean-Baptiste Arban. Regardless of a student's ability level this book has hundreds of pages of exercises to develop trumpeter skills. The most important thing I develop with beginning students is tone. I first started teaching and helping run brass sectionals at some local schools in 2004, but did not start teaching regualarly until I completed my degree in 2011. I find that young musicians make the most progress when playing for and with other people. I aim to make lessons fun and engaging and put a strong emphasis on playing duets.
