Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I've taught entire classes full of student trombonists, over 30 at a time, as well as entire school's student brass sections and individual student trombonists over the years. I've collected daily exercises and warm ups passed on to me from Principle Trombonists from various symphonies and orchestras, PhD's in Trombone Performance from The University of North Texas as well as professional trombonists from Broadway shows such as Wicked as well as The Count Basie Orchestra and Dizzy Gillespie's All-Star Big Band. During the first lesson, I get to know the student, find out their interests and determine which course will be the best start. The most important thing for all students is to keep the lessons engaging and fun. Piano: For younger beginning students, I typically start with the Alfred Basic Piano Library. Older beginners start with Alfred's All In One Piano Course. For adults, I find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly. Read More

1My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. That is why at the start of our first lesson, I will assess what the student wishes to gain from our time together, and from our second lesson onwards, we will set smaller goals to be attained at the end of each lesson.
