The great thing about one on one teaching is each of my students get individual time with me versus being in a band class with lots of other students. The key goal for me as a teacher is making sure that my student is enjoying what they're doing. Music is supposed to be fun after all! I achieve this by allowing my student to progress at their own pace while they develop both their knowledge of music and their enjoyment of the craft. I try to maintain organization and give my students goals to accomplish. In this, I aim to teach them how to create these goals for themselves, giving them a say in what they choose to work on. I will push a student in whichever direction they are aiming for. I maintain an attitude of positivity and try to encourage my students as much as possible.
