In the beginning, we will be building the foundation of our collaboration. For the novice student, a great deal of our time will be establishing a vocabulary. As the foundation solidifies, we will build upon it and add to it, piece by piece. I will provide every student all of the musical tools I have available at my disposal and encourage them to take advantage. Our lessons are part-lecture and part-practice. Read More

I think relationships is what drives everything. If you don't build a trustworthy relationship with your student and learn about who they are and what they like then, you will not have a successful turn out. My teaching experience dates back to when i was in college, as I began teaching private lessons part time 15 years ago. Two books I find myself using with my intermediate and advanced students are the Wohlfahrt etudes and Trott's Melodious Double-Stops. I tend to write a lot of my own warm-ups and exercises for students depending on their individual needs, especially if the student is more interested in pop, rock, or country as opposed to classical.
