I also like to encourage my students to improvise and learn music by ear as well as using sheet music. I do this through games and other fun activities in each of my lessons, as I feel that this creativity is so important for musical growth and confidence. I have nearly a decade of private teaching experience as well as teaching in group and in school orchestra settings. While in Austin, Joseph ran a successful teaching studio of over 30 violin and viola students that regularly placed in TMEA All-Region Orchestras, UIL State Solo Ensemble Contest, and were members of the Austin Youth Orchestra.
