For beginning students I always begin with a methods book, I believe that good fundamentals are what makes a good musician, but I also teach ear training methods thereby giving the student the best in both worlds. Once the fundamentals and foundation are efficient, then according to the instrument I move to solo repertoire or experimentation or interpretation. For beginning students who are children, I like to use the Suzuki violin method. While they beginning to show progress Ill begin to include F. Mazas Melodios and Progessive Studies and the Wohlfahrt Studies combined with appropriate solo repertoire. For adults, I prefer to find out what their interest is focus on and I guide my instruction acording to this. I also like to include some Alexander Technique exercises to help my students manage their posture and to prevent getting hurt with the instruments position. Read More

I hold a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan, an Artist Diploma from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University, where I also taught as an adjunct faculty member for violin and viola university students. Playing alongside classical artists such as Lynn Harrell, Robert McDuffie, Gil Shaham and Stefan Jackiw, I have also been invited to perform with Michael Buble, the Osmonds, and most recently with The Killers on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
