My teaching experience began in my undergraduate days, where I taught private lessons part-time. Since then, I have taught private lessons on and off. I encourage students to listen to all types of music. I like to emphasize that Western classical music is just one of many around the world. I have taught private lessons at the local Music store "Music Machine" in Kennewick, WA. also In-home lessons, on-line lessons and lessons in my Studio in Richland, WA. Some students like the structure of an "official studio" or "lesson room"; others are more comfortable in their own living room, or simply sitting at a computer. After graduating Whitman, I interned as a music teacher at the Spring Street International School in Friday Harbor, WA. I was mentored by a great teacher, Grisha Krivchenia and learned how to be a compassionate teacher. I helped teach composition, music theory, small groups, bass and guitar.
