Teaching music is one of my greatest joys. I love being able to help students of all ages unlock the mysteries of playing music. I have been playing the trumpet since age 10, and after graduating from the University of Oregon in 2001, I auditioned to play for Thomas Mapfumo and the Blacks Unlimited from Zimbabwe. For the next ten years, I toured North America, Europe and Africa. Not only do I teach students how to play or create music, but also how to successfully set goals and achieve them. Every musician should have a goal in mind when practicing. Learning how to manage that goal can be tricky. I like to work together with students to take their goals and break them down smaller into more manageable pieces for them to master. I have taught private music lessons, since I was at Youngstown State University. I also assisted marching band camps over the summer time, at various high schools. I continue teaching private music lessons, to this day at my current job and online. I have recently taught, clarinet, piano, saxophone, violin, trumpet, trombone, as well as music recording online and in person.
