A doctoral candidate in violin performance, I have performed throughout the US and Europe. I hold a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan, an Artist Diploma from the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University, where I also taught as an adjunct faculty member for violin and viola university students. Playing alongside classical artists such as Lynn Harrell, Robert McDuffie, Gil Shaham and Stefan Jackiw, I have also been invited to perform with Michael Buble, the Osmonds, and most recently with The Killers on Jimmy Kimmel Live. For beginning students I always begin with a methods book, I believe that good fundamentals are what makes a good musician, but I also teach ear training methods thereby giving the student the best in both worlds. Once the fundamentals and foundation are efficient, then according to the instrument I move to solo repertoire or experimentation or interpretation. I've been teaching since I began high school when I started giving private lessons to my fellow orchestra members. Ever since I have constantly taught from my home and through various music studios. I excel at taking the most self-motivated students to the highest level, and I don't hold anyone back in order to stay with a pre-determined method. All students learn to count the beat in a FUN and entertaining way. I save the last few minutes of every lesson for "musical games", which are usually ear training. All of my students, even young children, can name strings, notes, and even chords by ear, all from playing this game. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
