I believe private lessons are a great way for some students just to get "a little more time playing their instrument", but under some great guidance! For beginning students who are children, I start with the Faber Piano Adventures. Once the student understands and has successfully grasped the fundamentals, I begin with scales and more solo repertoire appropriate for their level and for a recital. I also teach service playing for students who want to learn how to play hymns and anthems for a church. For adults, I like to sit down and talk to the adult and find out what they want from their piano experience and then develop a plan for what a weekly lesson will look like. Read More
