I don't believe in a one size fits all mentality for music education, I've often seen this approach derail students from enjoying the process and eventually terminating their relationship with music overall. This is important because it helps to retain motivation and passion, as well as direction on my end, for the techniques that they will learn. I picked up teaching during my second year of college with some help from my mother- a long-time piano teacher. During that time I taught several different students ranging from age 6 to adult on various instruments including piano, guitar, and drums. I've experienced the different learning styles and barriers that come with teaching kids, teens, and adults. So I began to explore other curriculum and attend the NAMM conventions and talk with other instructors. I saw there was a need for more expanded materials and started writing my own.
