For beginners, I usually begin with the Faber Piano method, or the Full Voice voice method. On the intermediate level, it is important to explore a variety of musical styles so that the student is being exposed to diverse approaches. For advancing students who have mastered the fundamentals of their field, I enjoy choosing repertoire with the students that is challenging and exciting for them. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time. I have been consistently teaching students since 2018. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More

I have primarily been a church musician for the past 15 years, but have also played in drum and bugle corps, orchestra and concert style bands. My main instrument is the trumpet, having played for 35 years. I give lessons on all brass instruments, although trumpet is my primary. I can teach any style. I have played guitar for about 25 years and my primary focus is classical or accoustic.
