I started teaching 1st graders about basic music concepts at the local elementary school when I was in 7th grade. Once I got to high school and I started to get serious about music, I began teaching private lessons to middle school and other high school students. By the time I was in college, I was capable of teaching lessons to students of any age or skill level. Since I have a variety of instruments and style I teach and since the needs of each student are different, I structure my materials and teaching methods for the individual. I particularly enjoy teaching beginners and young children. I've taught piano from many books including John Thompson books and Hal Leonard Series. Both my mother and grandmother were pianists and teachers.
