I am a very passionate musician and instructor who loves working with students of all ages and ability to help achieve their goals and spread the joy of playing music. I have been playing guitar since I was 6 years old (25 years) starting with classical and through the years delving deep into jazz, blues, rock, funk, soul, pop, fusion, and improv. It's an honor to be able to spread the love of music to students, as music has changed my life. Consistent practice is important, but so is finding what the student loves to practice. I always start with new students by assessing their level. For most beginner students, I introduce open chords and basic single note playing, eventually leading to chord progressions and basic classic rock riffs. Beyond this, I always tailor my teaching to a student's tastes, as I know the best way to engage a student and keep them excited is to show them how to play their favorite music!
