My teaching experience began while helping at the New Orleans String Project when my sisters were learning Viola. In my off time, I would assist the teachers. Later I began giving lessons through some members fo the Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra to which I have played and excelled through all of the group's sinfonia, Philharmonia, and Symphony. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance from UC Santa Barbara, and a Master of Music degree in flute performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSU Long Beach. It requires repetition and immersion to get the most out of it. I understand and remember the difficulties I faced in learning music so I help students navigate those challenges through their lessons. My passion for music comes from childhood, learning the first chords on the guitar with my father. From then on, I began to study classical guitar in conjunction with a repertoire of Brazilian and Latin music. Later I deepened my studies on the 7-string nylon guitar and also on the semi-acoustic guitar, especially in the language of jazz and blues. Bass and guitar are both physical instruments in their own way, and getting acclimated to the feel of it is key to having success on it. For bass, I typically teach out of the Suzuki book series, while as for guitar, I use the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, however, I am happy to teach whatever method a student or their parents feel strongly about.
