My teaching style allows students to go at their own pace. I will work to set realistic goals with them at each lesson and acknowledge accomplishments as these goals are met. I encourage the students to have a notebook with them during lessons so that we can document assignments, goals, progress, and accomplishments. I began teaching guitar in high school to middle school students and continued teaching children and adults throughout college. While in music college, I grew to start to teaching bass guitar as well as drums. My teaching style is focused yet fun. Me and my students always have a good time through my curriculum of theory and how it relates to music they enjoy. Whether it’s finding music theory in Taylor Swift song, or learning the guitar neck through a Beatles solo, I always find a way to teach through interests that the students have rather than force a cookie cutter approach.
