I am a passionate musician, educator, conductor, and composer, and I have been happily obsessed with music since I began piano lessons at age 10. I joined the school band program in 6th grade, and since then, I have learned how to play and teach many different instruments. My primary instrument is percussion, but I play piano, low brass, clarinet, bass guitar, and I also have perfect pitch. Everybody has strengths and weaknesses, and it's important to acknowledge the student's strengths as often as possible! The weaknesses are just what we're there to work on. I have over five years of teaching experience and specialize in Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute lessons. I also teach advanced music theory and composition as well as beginning level piano, acoustic guitar and ukulele. I have taught all types of students from age ranges of four to seventy years of age and taught lessons to students unable to speak English as well as students with disabilities. I use many different methods since I am of the opinion that all methods have their strengths and their weaknesses.  For children I typically use the Suzuki method and suplement with exercises and outside repertoire to compensate for the weaknesses in the Suzuki method.  I also use the Royal Conservatory method and try to teach its repertoire when the student is at an advance- beginner or intermediate level.
