I am a passionate musician "from the womb". I've sang since I was 4-years-old and began official training in school at 11-years-old. I started playing the violin just the year before that. I graduated with a worship leadership degree free Visible Music College in Memphis, Tennessee in 2020. I began lessons for piano my senior year of high school, and I continued training for about 2 years during in college. Our primary concern with beginners is being comfortable enough with the horn to be i complete control of the demands asked at this level. I think relationships is what drives everything. If you don't build a trustworthy relationship with your student and learn about who they are and what they like then, you will not have a successful turn out. I believe in only sticking with what the student is comfortable with learning. I will push and stretch them when it is needed, but I like to start by asking "what do you want to learn?" I base my teaching methods on the student I am teaching. For students that are children at a beginner level, I typically begin with the essential elements of creating vocal foundation which I draw from many sources. Once we have set a good foundation, we tend to begin working on repertoire that is appropriate for the level at which they are singing, using those songs as learning opportunities. For adults, I begin by asking about the goals of the individual student and I then formulate a strategy to help the student reach their specific singing goals. Read More
