I always try not to push for practice assignments, students are busy for school homework, outdoor activities, family obligations, most importantly, students should have fun to play music, of course practice is important, but if students lost interest in music playing, it will be hard to continue to have lessons. I have utilized Faber and Faber Methods for  Piano, Let's Play Jazz and More,J. Latulippe, Hannon Revisited, because I have discovered these methods to be comprehensive. For my flute students I have utilized method books by Trevor Wye,Brooke,,Moyse,Taffanel & Gaubert,Kuhlau,,and for Guitar Students I have utilized Classical Guitar Techniques by Shearer,Hal Leonard Methods, Noad,Methods, for the Guitar. Students will instill a passion for music, or further this passion! It is important to note that students will progress at their own pace. There is no deadline for when students reach a goal. It is important to see how a student reached their individual goals as opposed to how long it took to reach them. Quality is greater than quantity. Teaching is the most rewarding aspect of my career as it is an important way for me to share music with others. I first started teaching private flute lessons in 2013 working primarily with K-12 students. In 2015, I taught flute sectionals and music classes for middle school students as a counselor at the University of Colorado Boulder Summer Music Academy. I also served as Event Coordinator for the University of Colorado Boulder's Teaching Peace Through Music chapter, where I helped plan and promote classes on music education and learned from instructors working with underprivileged youth. In addition to seeing music through each individual student's eyes, I foster a sense of community by encouraging communication, coordinating chamber music and performing recitals, and providing other means of continued learning. I make myself available via email and phone, always doing everything I can to continue the students' engagement outside of their lesson.
