Ever since a child, I've loved learning, music and sharing my passions! Through grade school I grew into the role of a leader and a musical/visual artist. In 2018 I graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelors in K-12 Music Education with a minor in Spanish. My years of teaching grade school has reaffirmed my passion for teaching, and drive to be the best teacher I can. As a music educator, I vow to share my passion for music with others. I want others to see what I see: Music is Bliss. My teaching style can be summed up in one word: POSITIVITY! I have found encouragement and celebrating even the smallest of accomplishments is far more effective than a heavy handed approach ala whiplash. That is the way to spur on a students desire to stick with it and progress and produces a hunger to learn more. My teaching style involves stressing feel, timing, and confidence over note-for-note accuracy. I also spend a lot of time developing proper technique with my students, to ensure that my students do not form bad habits that limit their improvement. Trained in a competitive drumline environment, I have an eagle eye for ways to rapidly improve students' techniques and rudimental abilities.
