I know! Random! I played in a punk rock band, and was coaxed into touring Japan instead of pursuing my Psychology Career (post graduation from UCF, Orlando). I love Japan so much that I returned for four years to teach! My experience takes me straight out of high school. I have been a drum tech at West Johnston High School since Fall of 2015. Since then I've risen in the ranks and have taken a much bigger role. In between all of that, I've all taught at Wake Christian Academy as Percussion director for about a year. I've given a couple of students from that school private lessons and I've encouraged all of them to become better and more educated in the marching arts! Read More

From there, I began teaching as the percussion instructor at the same school during the beginning of my freshman year of college, lasting for the next 7 years after that. I'd also like to add that one of my former students from the same school is now the percussion instructor there. During my 7-year tenure there, I also taught as percussion instructor at many other high schools, middle schools and even a music conservatory, which was definitely the highlight of my teaching career so far. In 2020, I participated in the Virtual Drum Corps project. In 2021, I marched with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, and was able to perform all over the midwest. Lastly, from 2020 to the present, I have had the opportunity to perform with the Pride of the Mountains marching band. In addition to marching and concert percussion, Since I picked up sticks, I have been performing on drumset, and since I arrived at Western, I have participated in their award winning percussion ensemble.
