I recently graduated from Temple University with my Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance degree, where I studied with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra and gained valuable knowledge about the fundamentals of exceptional clarinet playing, such as tone production, articulation, technique, and musicality. I am a a new full-time educator, but I have also taught numerous private lessons. Since graduating, I have had 2 long-term substitute positions and I am currently working as a music teacher at a primary school in Lancaster County. I have taught beginning to intermediate piano, beginning ukulele, and advanced flute, clarinet, and saxophone. For beginning students, I typically use the Standard of Excellent method books. I can work with whatever lesson books they are using for their school programs as well if needed. I also bring the Trevor Wye method books specific to flute for tone and articulation exercises. I supplement these books with the Rubank method books. I also use scales and etudes for intermediate to advanced students. I have a large selection of duets to work on with the students, both for use a prepared works and sight-reading. Read More

My beginning students learn the fundamentals of their instrument. I want every student to get a well rounded education from me. Woodwinds students study from Essential Elements. Young piano students use the Faber collection and older students use the Bastien series for the Older Beginner. Practical Theory from Sandy Feldstein is used for instrumental students. Spike and Party Cat piano theory books is used for younger piano students. I encourage students to learn solo pieces and memorize scales so they can audition for various festivals. Read More

My teaching experience began in 1980 at Russo Music in Trenton NJ. I have taught a range of students from beginners to professionals. Many of my former students have gone on to become professional musicians in their own right. I have taught at schools in the Philadelphia, Bucks, Berks, Chester and Lancaster Counties as an adjunct professor. I teach all the woodwind families.
