My teaching style is very patient. I encourage my students to be patient with themselves as learning music is a life long journey. I encourage students to practice for at least 5 minutes everyday. I believe this allows them the chance to at least get their hands on their instrument. Often times once we get our hands on our instrument we end up staying their longer than we intended. With younger students and those new to their instrument, I start with the basics, laying out simple chords, scales, and arpeggios, showing them how they are used in their favorite songs. Once an understanding of these concepts is reached I move on to how to incorporate them in real-time, and show the student how incorporate these ideas using their own unique voice.
