I have spent my entire life working the arts. In high school I was a member of choir, band, theatre and jazz band. During my Air Force Years I attended the University of Maryland with my primary focus on musical theatre. Traveling the world and working with multiple theatre organizations has been an expirence that few can say they have done. We strive not to only teach vocal but theory as well to make a more marketable student so that they may be more prepared for the future. Read More

They come from a variety of backgrounds, sing a host of different music, and are individual in their goals for singing. It is inspiring to share the desire for good vocalism with such a diversity of people. My professional singing career continues as well. I enjoy a varied performing repertoire, singing many recitals and much contemporary music, but also Mozart and nineteenth-century French and Italian opera. This diversity allows me to keep my voice flexible and fresh while expanding my vocal and expressive capabilities. Read More

I'm a classical singer with a Bachelor of Music in Education degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Opera is my first love, but I also teach a wide variety of styles (musical theater, pop, country) as well as general vocal skills and musicianship. I perform in professional Opera (Austin Opera)and light Opera productions (G.S.S.A.). I also sing in more Folk/Americana styles on a regular basis for a local church. Read More

I usually start with breathing exercises and vocalises for all students. I also use the exercise books Concone and Sieber. After the student has grasped the breathing and the coordination of the vocalises we move on to repertoire that is age appropriate. I encourage my students to sing in Italian as this helps them to acquire a proper technique because Italian uses pure vowels. I have studied with some great teachers and feel like I need to pass on those methods to the next generation of musicians. Read More
Instruments: Voice, French Horn
Since each student begins and progresses at a differing pace, I strive to create realistic goals for each student at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments along the way always help to improve their desire to learn more. My goal is for the student to enjoy the learning experience as much as I enjoy the teaching experience! This, in turn, leads to a student's increased self confidence as a musician. Performing in a recital or other venue reinforces the student's progress and ability to communicate through music.
