I like to create very clear imagery that builds over time. The voice is not something we can see or touch, so I often joke that singing is about learning Jedi mind tricks that help us achieve a healthy technique. I like to incorporate theory/musicianship and some piano into my lessons to create a well rounded understanding of singing as a musician. My students get a strong base in theory, technique, and repertoire...usually focused on identified goals and outcomes. As students grow in ability and age, I engage their interests more so their instruction is more fulfilling.
