Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

As mentioned my teaching methods are as follows. Beginners in Piano - Scales, proper fingering positions and usage, posture and accurate knowledge of reading music. Beginners in Drums - Proper usage of drumsticks, demonstrate the two postions of holding the drumstick, knowledge of basic rhythm patterns, proper height and angle of drum or practice pad, and most importantly, the study of the 26 standard drum rudiments for proper playing developiment. Vocal Techniques: Proper breathing support, demonstrating the difference between using the breath and using the throat when singing, encourage student to record their lessons for accurate practice and knowledge of hearing themselves sing, (approved by student's preference). I have over 5 years of teaching experience working with a variety of communities and age groups internationally and locally. This has allowed me the flexibility to truly cater my teaching style to the needs of each and every student, and be culturally competent realizing that every student learns differently and has different needs. In 2011, I graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance and in 2014, I graduated from the University of Louisville with a Masters degree in Vocal Performance. For all students, I begin with classical fundamentals such as body alignment, breath support, and resonance and moving to topics including diction, vocal health, interpretation, and stage presence. I will work with the student to find repertoire that will best fit their voice, help achieve their musical goals, and be aligned with what they enjoy musically. I would love to find opportunities for students to perform their repertoire and show what they have learned whether that is a private recital for family and friends or a voice competition. Read More
