I love to see students grasp concepts. It is extremely rewarding to see students understand a concept and be able to explain how neat it is to a parent or friend. When I get a new student, I get to know exactly what their goals are. We set long term goals, and we make progress by setting manageable short term goals every week. I inspire the student to reach their goals by providing tools to help, and custom lesson plans that are fun and engaging. Read More

I started teaching when I was 18 years old, I had a lot of experience as a musician and singer by then, so I thought it was going to be easyer than what it was, but of course it took me years to find my own method, it was a completely different and new world for me, but after the first months teaching I really started to loved it. At the very first time I just had two students, but then I started to work in small music schools, I started to direct chorus, Intensive courses for adults, and more. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Thank you for taking the time to read this I look forward to working with you. Read More

I'm a lover of the music education. It's my goal to combine my experience with my ability to be a compassionate and enthusiastic music teacher who will make a positive contribution to my students. I graduated from Amadeo Roldan Conservatory of music in Cuba of Choir Director and Teaching Artist. I had the opportunity to participate in several international events and choir competition winning the First Prize at International Chamber Choir Competition Marktoberdorf in Germany on 2011. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to learning an instrument. I utilize a variety of different methods for the variety of instruments I teach (guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, voice). I like to meet with my students and get an idea of the pace in which the learn and how much effort they want to put in. Along with working on music the student wants to learn, I have a wide variety of books as well as my own handouts prepared for my students. Read More

My teaching style is a something I consider to be a hybrid: I combine the academic knowledge I have gained since I started my first piano lesson at four years old, along with the real life experience I obtained as a full-time traveling musician. I take this unique style of teaching and apply it in a very engaging and stimulating learning environment. I like to apply techniques from both the Orff and Kodaly teaching philosophies with younger students. Read More

As with most of my own studies, I try to adhere to the classical style of training. I will also adjust as to the student's individual needs. Of course with everyone, we will increase vocal range and experiment with what areas of style need more work than others, for example some may need to work harder at belting than head voice, and so on. The most important things in my opinion are warmup techniques, breath support, examining correct space, finding the lift in the soft palate, and letting go of any tension, especially in the jaw area, as it is not a part of the process!
