My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 11 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students ever since. I am a public schools orchestra director who has taught in 2 school distrcits in New Jersey and now will be teaching in the Orange County Public Schools. I always emphasize regular practice on a consistent schedule as it helps the student progress and gain a passion for music and the instrument. Read More

I started playing Violin when I was in second grade after I went to an orchestra performance and fell in love with the music. I've been in several orchestras since, like the Greater Miami Youth Symphony. I picked up several other instruments along my journey as well like guitar, bass, and drums. I currently am working on an electronic music project called "Witchbrew" while still playing guitar and violin for fun as much as I can. Read More

I also try to help students cheive their targeted goal, as most people have a favorite song or style of music in mind that they want to learn. Read More

I find that the key to enjoyable lessons is to discover just the right sort of pieces a student likes to play. No one likes having to practice something they think is boring. It is with this in mind that I also incorporate games and flash cards and activities involving action for the little ones who can't sit long on a piano bench. I make sure we use ALL the keys of a piano from one end to the other, and the black ones too. Read More

I strike a balance between pushing for skill and making sure a student has fun. That balance rests on communication how invested, listened to, and motivated they feel. To establish that communication, we'll talk each week about progress, concerns, and triumphs. I also try to find the roots of problems. The reason you're squeezing the bow could be the same reason you're playing faster than the metronome, and I'll be the annoying (metaphorical) speed bump making you slow down and relax. Read More
