I began teaching privately at the age of 17, as a way to expand my knowledge and experience. Of the jobs I have and have had, teaching is by far my favorite. I feel that it not only helps my students to grow, but for me to grow as well. My teaching experience spans over 25 years and includes private instruction in piano, organ, violin, viola and composition. As an experienced classroom teacher, I have worked as an elementary/middle school teacher and 12 years teaching as an adjunct professor in several colleges and universities. The youngest student in my studio was 6 six years old, while the oldest was 83. My students recieve clear and achievable goals at the end of each of their lessons to work on while they are practicing during the week. This enables students to be able to really see their own progress as the practice.
