Most beginning students will start with a violin rental. This is a great option because it is less of a financial commitment than buying a new instrument, and it allows for flexibility in the size. The sizing is important, especially when it comes to children, as they will usually start out with a smaller instrument than is considered the adult standard. When you are beginnin the renting process it is important to have the student present so they can be fit for the right size. Our teachers will also be able to guide you in your instrument choosing.
Musika offers customized one-on-one music lessons at your home - a time saving solution for busy parents and students. The convenience of in-home lessons allows you to save time without having to transport your child to class, allows your child to maximize their busy schedule, and provides a safe and familiar environment in which to learn.
All students are different, and that means all lessons will be different. Each teacher works to tailor their lesson plans around students specific needs and goals, all while teaching them the most important aspects of their instrument. Students will learn how to read music, develope musicianship, and how to play their instrument with proper technique. No two lessons will be the same as all students have different strengths and goals. If the student has a particular style or method they are looking to learn, Musika will find a teacher that will be able to accomodate those needs.
Musika works with all ages and skill levels to help students reach their highest potential! Whether you are an adult beginner, or an advanced player, our teachers will work with you to further your skills, and reach any goals you may have. With customized lesson plans, and a convenient in home lessons option, adult students find lessons with Musika to be both successful and rewarding.
Our earliest recommended starting age for violin is 4, although exceptions can certainly be made for a younger student who is capable of handling the strings properly and who has sufficient strength in the fingers and hands. A teacher can help you decide which size instrument to choose depending on the age and height of your child.
