Since I have a variety of instruments and style I teach and since the needs of each student are different, I structure my materials and teaching methods for the individual. I particularly enjoy teaching beginners and young children. I've taught piano from many books including John Thompson books and Hal Leonard Series. Both my mother and grandmother were pianists and teachers. I began teaching private violin lessons in high school and I have continued to teach ever since. While studying at NYU, I enjoyed working with public school students as a Teaching Artist through the Brooklyn Philharmonic outreach program. At the University it Miami I took pedagogy coursework and taught through the Frost School of Music’s preparatory and MusicReach programs. For my younger students, I typically start them out with the Essential Elements (Hal Leonard) book. As the student progresses through the book, I will introduce pieces of repertoire that reflect the student's abilities. Students are more than welcome to share music that they would like to learn, which is important in maintaining their passion for playing.
