I am an instructor that have great passion for teaching, and believes that everyone should have the chance to learn an instrument, no matter the age. I started playing the Violin in 2004, Viola in 2009 and Piano in 2011. I graduated with a Bachelor in Music Performance specializing in Violin in 2015 from Barry University in Miami Shores. During my time, I have performed and held performances with musicians from many different orchestras based in Atlanta and South Florida, including learning from members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and performances with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. For beginner strings I use several method books (elementary and 6th students can come with prescribed method books from their public school teacher) such as Essential Elements, Orchestra Expressions, String Essentials. If parents would like to use solo books, I use Suzuki Method Books (not necessarily the method of only learning by ear) in conjunction with note reading workbooks. As they age I use other method books (violin, viola, cello. double bass) such as Wohlfahrt, Mazas, Kreutzer, Flesch, Schradieck, Dont, Bach Sonatas and Partitas, Rick Mooney's shifting and thump position book series, Klengel, Bach Cello Suites, Popper, PIatti, Smandl Method, Fischer, and of course as they advance any standard sonatas and concerti, such as Mozart 5 in AM, Mendelssohn in em, Hadyn Concerto in CM, anything from the Baroque, classical, and romantic era. We have all heard that practice makes perfect. In reality, perfect practice makes perfect, and true improvement comes from proper practice technique. That can seem a difficult goal for students, so each lesson targets a realistic goal for practice techniques and improvement. As we work on the short-term objectives, we also have the long-term goal of recitals and possibly other performances throughout the year.
