In December of 2017 I finished my degree in Music Education at Brigham Young University- Idaho, and in August I begin my Masters Degree in String Pedagogy at the University of New Mexico. I am very passionate about being sure my students gain skills through music education that will stay with them beyond what they study with me. Building a close relationship with the students and their parents is also important to me. Parents are encouraged to be present for the lesson but it is not a requirement. I find that when parents are present, keeping track of what needs to be practice can be much easier for the student. There is nothing that can replace the support of the students parents. I am a versatile music teacher. As an undergraduate at Ithaca College, I learned each band and orchestra instrument from the college instructor. For example, I learned to play the oboe from the oboe professor. We had to make our own reeds and use them to play our final exam.
