I have taught private Drum Major lessons and high school clinics to young students across Western and Central North Carolina. During the summer of 2019, I was honored to be an instructor at the Lenoir-Rhyne Youth Summer Music Camp, where I taught musicianship/theory and woodwinds. I currently student teach for partial fulfillment for my Master's degree at Hickory High School (Hickory, NC). My teaching experience started when I was in high school. Being a son of two teachers I was compelled to become a tutor. I was my first student. Teaching myself how to play the piano and gutiar. My father taught me methods of how to learn and thats what I use to teach. I gained more experience helping people write essays and do home work. Yes, I will be focusing on fundamentals, skill, and fluidity but if there is anything that I prioritize above all else is art. Anyone can learn to play scales and technically difficult pieces but cultivating creativity and musicianship is the key to developing an understanding of phrasing, purpose, and musicianship. I'm not going to be just sitting around telling my student what to do and how to do it. I want my students to think for themselves and delight that the work they produce is their own. Read More

Since each student learns differently, I utilize a variety of teaching methods. Some students are auditory learners. Some students are visual learners. Some students learn better when several method books are used in correlation with each other. I am a passionate instructor who loves to inspire others to fall in love with music. I graduated from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts which is where I went for my high school degree, with a concentration in flute. I went to West Virginia University for my Bachelors in Music Industry.
