I have played piano and trumpet since I was 5 years old. I began my journey with music in Europe at Henryk Wieniawskis School of Music at age of 7. At that time I already performed on stage. My career as a musician began in Poland where along with Classical piano and trumpet I was influenced by such Jazz greats as Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Thelonious Monk, Joe De Francesco, Joe Zawinul, Miles Davis, Eddie Palmieri, Chucho Valdez, Woody Shaw, Keith Jarret and McCoy Tyner. I have been fortunate to live and teach internationally (Soviet Union, USA, Singapore, Australia, Central America), making me also multi-lingual, being able to teach in English, Russian or Spanish. From beginner to advanced level, and students of any age are welcome! I make strong emphasis on proper technique and hand positioning from the very beginning, as well as developing quality of sound and musicality. Dexterity exercises, scales and music theory are added into each lesson, to help students with understanding of music and proper unique. Read More

For children and adults who are beginners I tend to use the Orff Approach as well as the Dalcroze Method. With thses methods I cnan engage the student with the music while they use their mind and body to learn the basics of music. I like to first teach students to read sheet music and learn the importance of meter and time siganture. I then move on to more techniques as they learn. Read More

For children who are at a beginner level, I like to use Piano Adventures until they reach level 2B, and then switch them over to the piano series edited by Keith Snell from the Neil A. Kjos Piano Library to introduce them to the serious study of classical music and theory. At this point, I also begin to create my own lesson plans to introduce them to musical concepts and repertoire they otherwise would not encounter in the conventional methods. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage my students by setting realistic goals and proving homework after each lesson to perfect for the next lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to his or her learning style. Read More

There are many preparatory series available for beginning students. I am not particular about which series I work with. Often there are students with previous instructors and I have no trouble picking up where the student left off. I can recommend books or a series as well as supplemental skills practice books. There are many wonderful books that can be easily purchased online. Sheet music is also available online. I can show students where to look for the music they want to learn. Read More

For beginning students, I teach them the basics first, and then simple and fun pieces that they can master. For intermediate students, I start them on method books and more advanced techniques. With advanced students, I help them refine their playing and personalize each piece that they learn. This makes it far more enjoyable for The student, as well as more relevant. I know that this relevance is what keeps students interested and playing their instruments in the long term, whether recreationally or professionally. Read More
