My music experience began in 5th grade when I started playing the Bassoon for the school orchestra. I then picked up Bass guitar and performed alongside the Pep band and the Jazz band and continued my practice with both all the way through college. After college I began making my own music and currently have 5 albums out between the numerous projects Ive involved myself with. Every student is different. I understand this and use it to my advantage. Early on I will use my own methods of building coordination between the fingers and the instrument. We will quickly learn simple chords and will be able to start playing along with songs in the first few lessons! I will even find ways to get students to play along with songs of their choosing! I believe in cultivating music at a high level from the very start emphasizing that one must listen in order to play. I encourage activities that foster focus and attention to detail. The more deeply one listens ,the richer the musical experience.. I tap into the concept of octave theory utilizing solfege as well as linear concepts on single strings.. Music has been a significant part of my life since I was a child, and it's importance has grown as I've gotten older. I started, as many do, in the fifth grade when I started playing the saxophone which I continued on through high school. When I was 13 I started playing the electric guitar, and I would later switch to the classical guitar at 19.
