Nicholas Handahl, Brother Vincent Bache and Mr. Albert Sean Hird of Jamaica Military Band. During his time at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Jones served as a coach for flute ensembles, taught supplementary flute lessons for undergraduate students, worked as the orchestra manager and librarian and also worked with professors as a teaching assistant. He has performed with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, Alcorn State University’s Concert Band, Marching Band, Choir and Jazz Ensemble, The National Historic Black Colleges and University’s ALL STAR Wind Symphony, Jamaica Symphony orchestra, The Young Jamaica Ensemble, and has made several guest appearances at the Natchez Music and Arts league in Mississippi performing solo and collaborative works. Piano lab: I used ipad app like Piano Maestro, Music for Little Mozart, Irealpro and other ipad apps to help the students to learn piano. Piano Books: For the age under 5, I use Music for Little Mozart by Alfred. For the age 5 to 9, I use Prep Course by Alfred, Piano Adventure Pre primer lever. For the age 9 to 12, I use Piano Basic Course by Alfred, or Premier Piano Course. For the age 12 and up, I use the piano music for the adults. Read More

Typically when I begin with children I incorporate the Hoffman Method and Books such as the Little Mozarts books, Alfred, Faber and Master Theory. I allow for children to learn fundamentals in a fun way so they can begin to read music and perform if they are interested. Students get to learn the basics like Mary had a little lamb, hot cross buns, jingle bells, and other fun tunes. My teaching style is low-pressure but simultaneously focuses on technical ability, and music theory while fostering a unique voice in the student. I feel like students who develop their own voice in their music at an early stage of their education create a stronger passion for music in the long run thus more successful and enthusiastic musicians are made. Whether my student is interested in learning to read music or to play/sing by ear, my aim is to study music that is interesting to the student. I am a passionate and movitated instructor and preformer who loves sharing my love of music.  I graduated from the Longy School of Music in 2008 where I earned my Master of Music in Flute Performance with Distinction studying under Robert Willoughby.  In 2005 I earned my Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance Magna Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University studying under Christina Smith and Carl Hall both of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  I have participated as a performer in numerous masterclasses as well as performed with the National Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.  Read More
