I began to teach private lessons when I was in college in the year 2005. I started in a small music shop called McKinney Music where I taught in a back storage room. I taught beginning snare drum, piano and drum set. I had an experience there where a young 7 year old student who didn't practice and it showed. I began teaching in my first year of college when I started working for a company that organized after school programs for hundreds of schools across the Chicagoland area. With this company, I taught many group guitar classes for almost 4 years. In this time, I taught hundreds of students and I learned that each individual student is different and must be treated as such.     My first teaching job was in 1977 at Glendale Music Center in Glendale Heights, IL. I taught there for a year and when my performance schedule became too busy I decided to leave and start to teach privately for myself so I would have a more flexible teaching schedule. Since then I have continued to teach privately in various instruction studios, virtual online instruction and instruction in student homes for 45 years and I am proud to say that with all my experience as a performer and instructor I can teach all ages, all levels and all styles.
