Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For beginners, I will start lessons by assisting them to become familiar with their instrument and to learn all the names of the various parts of the instrument. All lessons will be catered to what it is that the student is excited to explore, be it music theory, instrumental techniques, improvisation, composition, arrangement, ear training, transcription, reading, playing in a group setting, or just learning a favorite song. I come up with a customized lesson plan for each of my students that will stay on the best possible path to success. Based on skill level, all lessons are geared toward progressing to a goal that the student sets while setting individual milestones. I choose a method book that is most appropriate for the student. I have always believed that music is a conversation between the musician and the audience, and the instrument is the interpreter. With this in mind, with any age, I start with a regular conversation. Knowing the passion, interest level, and motivation of the students helps me create a method of teaching that is specific to the individual. I also learn their experience and knowledge level. I typically begin with rhythm. The best melodies would not be worth anything if they aren't played with rhythm. After a student gains basic familiarity with their instrument I use a metronome (a musician's best and worst friend. Instead of playing traditional exercises, I teach students their favorite songs and techniques typical of their favorite genres.
