I have also taught middle school flute and clarinet in the Loudoun County Public School System, it was a lot of fun and one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I've been teaching music since May 2008 and love music. My goal is to pass on my passion for music to future generations. Many of my student I have had for years on end. I've gotten to see them grow up and it's a very fulfilling knowing that I have contributed to the family’s life by teaching the kids to play music and foster the courage for the students to play for their families. I have been working with children since I began working with Bar-T Summer Camps in 2007 at age 13. In my second year at Berklee College of Music, I decided to pursue music education. I have always been fascinated in music instruction. I have taught ages 5-18 in many different music fields like composition, arranging, performance, composition and theory. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with a songbook, such as the Accent on Achievement method book. Once the student has a grasp on the fundamentals, I begin to introduce solo repertoire. For adult students, I try to find out what the student is interested in pursuing, and then if they are a beginner, I teach fundamentals through the Rubank method books and supplement with songs that are approapriate to the student's taste. Even though I am still in school I actually have a job as a music educator already! I teach at a private school and I absolutely love my job! I am a self taught instrumentalist but I also have taken lessons as well. I do not have a huge amount of private lesson teaching but I have experience group teaching and teaching a class.
