I've been teaching privately for about 15 years, starting when I was a student at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Since that time, I've taught students on Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet at all levels, from beginners all the way to advanced players in high school. My focus as an undergraduate was in jazz performance, and I love to teach about jazz techniques, beginning to advanced improvisation, and group dynamics. My teaching experience dates back to my high school years, as I have 20 years of teaching private lessons, along with 10 years of band and orchestra teaching. Individually, I have taught piano along with band instruments such as flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, saxophone and percussion. I try to be sensitive to the needs of the student not just his/her musical needs but his/her academic needs as my ability to continue working with the student depends upon his/her academic success. I strived to ensure to meet and exceed the expectations of a clarinetist in middle school in high school. I furthered my career by auditioning for and making Marines as a clarinetist.
