I began teaching at the Xavier University Junior School of Music (Louisiana) at the age of 18. My teaching experience now spans 30 years. While most of my teaching, over the years, has been primarily private, I also have several years of classroom teaching experience. The methods that I use will be outlined to you before the first lesson. Beginning students learn rudiments and work into repertoire of their own interest as time moves along. Intermediate students and beyond learn should indicate any interests they have musically to have a supplement to lesson materials. I encourage my students to participate in Music Teacher National Association competitions, festivals, and other events when appropriate. Other competitions, festivals, and performance opportunities can be suggested for participation when appropriate. Read More

The last one are two separate books, but one for each instrument. I usually prescribe adults the same books to start. I move on to Rubank Intermediate, and then move to Hite, Melodious and Progressive Etudes. Read More
