I started out teaching when I moved to Chicago and have since enjoyed working with students of different ages with different levels of experience. Whether students pick up the cello with goals to pursue a career in music or decide to start playing as a hobby, I am passionate about working together to achieve their goals and to enjoy the process along the way. I encourage consistent and regular practice and emphasize a holistic, kinesthetically based mentality and approach to learning the cello, promoting healthy and happy cellists! Read More

I have experience teaching cello freelance during my high school years in my hometown and had several students aged 5-12. I also have experience substitute teaching at Meter Music School in Seattle where I teach cello, guitar, and piano to younger children. I also have informal experience teaching guitar and piano to special needs children. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I have had the opputunity to study with some of the countries greatest pedagogues, including Nancy Hair, Peter Howard, and Raimi Solomonov.I just recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drake University, and I am currently working on my Masters of Music at the Chicago College of Performing Arts with renowned cellist Richard Hirschl.
