Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I have been a performing live music for over fifteen years. I have a lot of experience working and collaborating with other musicians on a professional level. I began my teaching career working part time at a local at risk youth education center. Whether in the studio, on stage, or on TV, Evan W. is an ambitious, multifaceted bass player that continues to deliver exceptional music. After playing several instruments and winning All County and All State honors throughout elementary and middle school, he was first introduced to the bass at age 13. Evan assimilated his musical understanding and developed his keyboard proficiency to further his understanding of the bass guitar. Taking his scholastic career to Grambling State University, he graduated with a bachelors in Music Performance on Classical guitar then graduated with his masters in Jazz Studies on Bass Guitar from the University of New Orleans. I believe in teaching people to be true musicians and tap into their own creative spirits, not just to be technicians at the mercy of what's written for them. With that said, I take a balanced approached between learning traditional fundamentals and some of my own more philosophical approach, drawing on metaphors and analagous experiences to help frame this learning experience in ways the student can relate and understand. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it is important that each student progresses at his or her own place. I encourage this by setting goals and assignments for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student's desire to progress and makes students eager to learn more.
