Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I like to believe I am very perceptive. Therefore, my first lesson is always about getting to know my student, or at least as much as they let me. Picking up habits in the beginning is a good way to know how to best teach and have a strong professional teacher-student relationship. Over time I can get a sense of what to say and when to say it. For beginning students who are children, I like to start them with the "Guitar Method for Young Beginners Series" and then into the "Progressive Rhythm Guitar". Even while a student is learning the fundamentals, there are songs that can be taught at every skill level to keep each lesson fun. At the age of 17, I flew to Hollywood, CA to attend Musicians Institute where I studied Bass Guitar Performance. Learning from and playing with some of the best musicians in the business was amazing. I left school to hit the road with my first professional band. I spent the next 20+ years writing, recording and touring all over the country.
