Overview and History of Bass

The Electric Bass Guitar originated in the 50s at about the same time as the Electric Guitar. Leo Fender created the precision bass in 1951 which quickly set the standard on which all other Electric Bass Guitars have been judged. Bass Guitar has found a home in every genre of popular music including Jazz, Blues, Country, and Rock. It is often also used as a solo instrument in R&B, Hip Hop, and Funk.

Age to Begin Bass Lessons

The Bass is a great instrument for students of all ages to begin their studies and musical explorations.  We recommend starting children on the bass guitar no younger than age 8, as a certain degree of hand strength is required.
