My teaching experiences have been positive, fun, and I've built good relationships with my students. My favorite part about teaching is seeing singers gain confidence in their singing ability and hearing their voices grow. I belive that any learning experience should be fun above all things. I learn a lot from my students, and I encourage them to take risks and opportunities to make them into better musicians. I began teaching during the time I was in college. I love to inspire students with my own love of music! I also use positive reinforcement (such as stickers) to motivate my younger students to practice and perform their songs successfully. After determining what motivates the student to learn an instrument and also knowing their profile and their relationship with music prior to this, I develop a daily, weekly and monthly plan with the same student, I establish the level of commitment that the student Is going to put in the training and project, along with him, some goal or objective attainable according to his commitment. For more advanced players and singers, I want to encourage practice and therefore, help the students find songs/repertoire that they are very interested in playing/performing. We make a goal to play a certain piece for a specific recital date and they are more motivated to practice!
