For my piano students I typically use Alfred's Piano books for both children and adults. This series of books, I believe, does a great job of creating a starting point for younger and older students. Along with those books, I encourage the study of scales and other warm ups. For my voice students I partner with the student to find songs that the student will love to sing. My instruction for vocal technique is based on getting the student to have a free, beautiful sound through the use of breathing and vocalises (warmups). Read More

I emphasize proper breathing and healthy technique, especially for young singers whose voices have not yet matured. I like to give students an idea of what would be beneficial to them and then let them choose their own repertoire based on their musical preferences.
