Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 4 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. For fiddling, I gauge the students' strengths and develop some exercises that will enhance their sound and overall technique. Then, we choose tunes that are interesting to the student and work through them either one or a few at a time, depending on what is a comfortable work load and also a comfortable challenge. Read More
