My teaching style works with many different personalities and ages. What I found is that it works best with parents and students who are committed and disciplined in their violin practice at home. It is important for all three of us to realize the commitment we are making when we start our lessons together. Our relationships will thrive with open communication and hard work from each of us. I enjoy getting to know each student's learning style and encouraging them to achieve excellence. Read More

I tailor my lessons to each individual student. Students learn at different rates, so, therefore, I want each student to progress at his or her own pace, without comparison to where my other students may be at. I want learning an instrument to be an enjoyable experience, and though the student may have to do and play practices, exercises, and pieces that they may not necessarily enjoy in the moment, it will all be beneficial to him or her in the long run and I will incorporate pieces and selections that interest them as well. For students who are serious about learning I believe a goal-oriented approach is the best, having a certain level or certain piece to try to reach by a specific time. Once the basic foundation is in place the learning will become easier and the students' enjoyment will increase. Read More

After any student gets through some of the basic method books, I switch to Berklee College of Music method books. Read More
